About the Event

Registration:  Starts October 15, Deadline:  October 31

Registration Fee:  $25.00 per student.  All fees are non-refundable.

Open to all ages, including adults

Audition Format:  students perform for two judges, and may leave following their performance

Students are required to perform two memorized pieces composed, from two different musical time periods from the following list:

          Baroque

          Classical

          Romantic/Impressionistic

          Contemporary (must reflect a contemporary idiom, for example - Dissonant harmonies, Fragmented melodies, Irregular Meter,

          Ostinato Bass, Jazz, Ragtime, Non-traditional notation)

No arrangements or abridgments will be allowed.  Transcriptions are allowed.

Adult students may play with the music.

Teachers will enter students in the following levels:

          Beginner             5 minutes

          Intermediate        7 minutes

          Advanced           10 minutes

Students whose pieces exceed the time limit should expect to be stopped by the judges but won't be penalized.

Teachers will be required to judge for the duration of the event and will be emailed judging guidelines.

Students will receive a certificate of participation, judged comments, and a rating.
